The picture played a decisive role in the fate of the actress.
The cult television series “Seventeen Moments of Spring” by Tatyana Lioznova has become a real Soviet classic. Even those actors who appeared in the frame for only a couple of seconds were able to count on good offers from directors in the future. But for the performer of one of the roles, the career soon ended.
Olga Soshnikova played a bright negative heroine in the tape. Gestapo Barbara Crane tortured Kate and her child. The pretty actress in the frame turned into a real monster, into a cruel Frau, who surpassed the level of anger of many SS officers.
Soshnikova’s talent worked against her. The audience literally hated the actress, associating her with the image of the character. On the street, some passers-by attacked the movie star with their fists, others shouted curses after her.
The actress starred in several more films, but by the beginning of the 2000s she had finally left the cinema. It was rumored that neither the directors nor the audience saw her as anyone other than Barbara Crain. Soshnikova herself explained the end of her career by the need to take care of her family.
