The Consell de Ibiza denounces 15 VTC with false boarding passes
The complaint presented to the prosecution by the Consell de Ibiza indicates that a total of 15 Transport Vehicles with Driver (VTC) relocated, operate irregularly on the island after the Transport Inspection service of the insular institution has verified during their proceedings that the banknotes presented by the VTC are forgeries.
This has been indicated by Javier Torres, insular Minister of Transport:
“Making these irregularities known to the Prosecutor’s Office is another step in the fight initiated by the Consell against illegal transport, since if this complaint is successful, the legal route will become one more tool against intrusion in the sector and one more endorsement for this fight ».
And he added:
“The judicial process demonstrates our commitment to eradicate irregular and illegal behavior in the sector and means fighting intrusion in a more efficient way.”
Specifically, the Consell’s Land Transport Inspection service has detected that the reported vehicles presented false boarding passes.
In the fraudulent tickets analyzed by the Transportes del Consell inspectors, both arrival and departure dates appear false.
The day of departure meets the maximum period of 18 days, but the inspectors have discovered that the VTC circulates a longer period on the island, locators and ticket numbers and even incorporates the corporate image and the logos of the company.
For this reason, the Minister, acting on behalf of the institution, has made these facts known to the Prosecutor’s Office in case they could constitute the crimes of documentary falsification contained in articles 390 to 394 of the Penal Code.
18 days every three months outside your community
Although VTC companies can work outside their autonomous communities for up to 18 days every three months, the Inspection Service of Land Transport of the Consell de Ibiza already detected last year that some transport vehicles with driver could be falsifying the documentation to overcome the maximum term set by law and thus work on the island for a period longer than allowed.
Finally, the minister insisted on his gratitude to the Armas-Transmediterránea and Baleària shipping companies for their involvement in the fight against intrusion in transport.
This collaboration is the result of an agreement, reached on August 6, between these companies and the Consell Insular d’Eivissa to control VTC licenses.
