“The Conners”: Darlene swallows her pride and makes a career decision.

On this week’s episode of The Conners, we saw a side of Darlene (Sara Gilbert) that was unrecognizable. Sure, she’s always been a little socially awkward. And she’s never been a super happy or kind person. But Darlene isn’t usually a person who cares what others think either. This was also always a very strong character.

However, as of this week’s episode, we’ve seen a rougher side of Darlene in terms of emotions.

Darlene is bullied by her employees.

We know Darlene and Becky (Lecy Goranson) took jobs at Wellman Plastics and made some money during the pandemic to help their father pay the mortgage. However, Darlene seems to struggle a little more with the job than her big sister. In fact, at the beginning of the episode, she had a heart to heart with her son Mark (Ames McNamara).

It turned out that Darlene was eating her lunch in the bathroom. And her employees teased her because she behaved better than anyone else who worked in the factory. Her son told his mother to face her fears and talk to her staff. He hoped she could find a way to connect with them.

She is considering quitting her job.

Darlene returns from trying to talk to her staff. She tells Mark that things didn’t go well. And that day she ate alone in the bathroom. She had reached a point where she was considering quitting her job. She couldn’t handle the pressure.

However, it was her son Mark who changed her mind. Mark complained to his mother that his computer was slow and not working the way he needed it to. And it was at that point that Darlene made an important realization. Thanks to her work at the factory, she was in a place where she could replace her son’s laptop for school. She admitted that this was the first time in a long time that she didn’t have to say no to her children.

She decides not to quit her job.

Darlene Conner eventually decided to swallow her pride and keep her job. She opened up information about her son to her co-workers and made it clear to her how important the job was to her. Their employees, who they selected, revealed that they had previously worked in the factory. They worked with Darlene’s mother.

They told Darlene she didn’t have to give up her dream of becoming a writer. She just had to find a way to do both. The job with the factor would allow her to pay her bills. And in her free time … she could follow her dreams of becoming a writer.
