Abadikini.com, JAKARTA – The phenomenon of conjunction or the proximity of the planets Venus and Mars in a straight line will be seen on Monday night (12/7/2021) yesterday and tonight (13/7/2021).
A conjunction occurs when celestial bodies appear close to or bump into each other. Mars and Venus are not physically close in space. But at any given time the two can appear close together or together when viewed from the point of view of Earth.
During this month, Mars and Venus will indeed appear close together in the night sky. However, on the 12th and 13th nights it will be special because the two will only be separated by a finger’s width.
After that look at the sky about half an hour later, and look for the planets that appear to the west. Mars won’t look as bright as Venus, but you can see its distinctive reddish hue. Quoted by CBS News, the phenomenon of the conjunction of Venus and Mars will be visible on the evening of July 12, and will still be seen very close on July 13, just after sunset.
The time of sunset in Jakarta, according to the Time and Date website, will occur at 17:52 WIB. You can adjust the sunset time according to the city by doing a search on this site. Launching EarthSky, Venus will appear very bright in the night sky, about 200 times brighter than Mars, which is easily visible with its characteristic reddish color. Telescopes or binoculars will help with visibility, but both planets will be clearly visible to the naked eye once the Sun has set.
