Action burned until the death of a woman with the initials IYN (41) shocked the inhabitants of Periuk, City of Mandarins. The housewife was desperate to commit suicide because her husband had caught her cheating on her.
The incident happened on Monday (11/28) around 11:30 AM WIB at IYN’s home, Periuk area, Tangerang city. The existence of the suicide was confirmed by the Tangerang city police chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho.
“So it is true that there was a woman named IYN who was suspected of having committed suicide by setting herself on fire using petrol at TKP,” Kombes Zain said in a statement to reporters on Tuesday (29/11/2022).
Seconds of IYN’s self-immolation
The act of self-immolation was discovered after residents saw smoke rising from the fire from the victim’s home. The residents then decided to put out the fire. But apparently, the smoke didn’t come from a fire, but because there were victims who set themselves on fire.
“The witness was about to help, but the gate was locked from the inside and the witness called the residents for help and contacted the victim’s husband who had just started work,” she said.
The victim’s husband immediately arrived and opened the gate. After which the husband, assisted by the residents, broke down the door of the house to put out the fire.
“At the time, the victim was still on fire with fire still burning over her body. Witnesses then helped put out the fire by dousing it with water,” Zain said.
The police who received the information then went to the scene. Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene.
“We are still investigating the victim’s suicide motive. Currently, the victim has been taken to Tangerang Regency Hospital for autopsy to find out the cause of death,” concluded Zain.
