The Confluencia League returns with the public in the stands in a pilot test

After a year without any type of activity due to the pandemic, which paralyzed all activities since March, the Confluencia League defined its long-awaited return to the courts in the last hours.

With the endorsement of the Government of Río Negro, the leadership of the Alto Valle soccer contest established that the action will return on March 13 to the stadiums of the region with the presence of the public in the stands. The first to jump to the grass will be the training categories while a day later it will be the turn for the First Division.

The return of the Confluence began to work a month ago, with the diagram of the protocols, and finally last Monday his return was made official. It was after a meeting that the Board of Directors held with the Governor, Arabela Carreras, the Minister of Government, Rodrigo Buteler, and the Undersecretary of Federated Sports, Nahuel Astutti.

It was resolved that The return of football will be, as demanded by the majority of the clubs, with the presence of the public in the stands through a two-week pilot test.

The format of the contest will be announced in the coming weeks. Before that, the clubs must confirm their participation in the Apertura tournament.

The enabled capacity is 200 people per party, that must comply with the strict sanitary protocol. In case that does not happen, or if the contagion curve increases in the province during those days, the government will have the power to suspend the activity.

“It is a very important achievement. We are one of the first leagues that will play with the public, but the clubs will have to work together because if the protocols are not respected, everything can be paralyzed again. The presence of people is key because thanks to this they will be able to save the costs of opening the court ”, explained Marcelo Amadini, current president of the Confluencia League.

Looking ahead to reboot, from the League asked the province for financial aid that allows them to pay the cost of purchasing the elements for sanitizing the stadiums.

There will be observers of the province not only in the First Division but also in the inferior matches, to analyze and take care that the protocols are respected.

“It will be a unique contribution in the form of help so that clubs can comply with health protocols. The money will go to the Confluencia League and it will be in charge of distributing it to the clubs. What’s more, Another contribution is being analyzed that can help pay the referees or the police ”, highlighted Nahuel Astutti to Río Negro.

Although the amount has not yet been made official, It is estimated that the first income that the League will receive will be $ 800,000.

Despite the fact that the provincial government authorized the presence of people in the stands, Astutti pointed out that each municipality has the power to endorse it. In the event that the response from any locality is negative, the club must resolve its participation in the contest.

How will a pilot test be, from the province they will analyze the behavior of both the clubs and the fans during the first two weeks.

“There will be observers, not only in the First Division but also in the lower ones, to analyze that the protocols are taken care of,” added Astutti.

For his part, Amadini detailed the protocols: “Social distancing, the use of masks and it is not going to be possible to enter with bags or drinks. A person from the club must accommodate the people. Alson The cleanliness of changing rooms and bathrooms will be important, where a person will have to be dedicated exclusively to it ”.

In this way, the Confluencia League will kick off Rio Negro football after a year of inactivity for the pandemic.
