/ world today news/ The city conference of Plovdiv socialists to take all legal and statutory actions against the attempts of “Positano” 20 to delete BSP – Plovdiv. This was decided at a meeting last night by the delegates of the forum, which was held at the House of Culture “Boris Hristov”.
The city party conference categorically refused to comply with unconstitutional and illegal decisions of the central leadership, even less with a non-existent entity “working group” in the statutory and legal peace. Therefore, a new complaint will be submitted to the Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office. We remind you that Decision 84 of the National Council of May 11-13 is completely illegitimate, as it was taken in violation of the Regulations for the organization and activities of the National Council. The statute of the BSP provides for the continuity of the functioning of the party bodies, enshrined in Article 18. The mandate of the chairman of the relevant body can be terminated, but not of the entire body. On the territory of the city of Plovdiv, the City Conference is the supreme body, not some working group . Therefore, yesterday’s meeting is in accordance with the Party Statute, respectively it is legitimate.
The highest party body in the city under the hills imposed a measure of party influence under Art. 12 (4), item 4 of the Statute of the BSP to Georgi Yordanov, member of the IB of the National Assembly of the BSP, to the deputy Ivan Petkov-Bebeto and to the party coordinator Kalin Milchev. The three are temporarily deprived of the rights to occupy party positions, membership in party bodies and the right to apply for such positions within a period of one year. The same measure was applied to several more Conference delegates who participate in the working group.
“In the year in which the Plovdiv party organization celebrates its 130th anniversary, an action was taken to delete it. And not by political opponents and competitors, but by the Executive Bureau of “Positano” 20, using the career ambitions of a few local “comrades”. Who benefits? Who is interested in an impersonal, incompetent, insolvent, weak BSP?” Dimitrina Vakrilova, chairman of the General Assembly of the BSP – Plovdiv, whose mandate has been terminated, said at the beginning of her report. Her question became central to the three-hour discussion that followed. The young socialists took part in it most actively. They made sharp criticisms of the national leadership and made a definite request to win back the Party from the vulgarity, gossip and lies practiced by “Positano”. 20-year-old Vanina Saderska introduced the delegates to the brutal pressure that young people were subjected to a week ago in the elections for national youth leader. “Despite everything, we persevered and didn’t let Ninova decide for us. We will do the same in Plovdiv,” said the student of Bulgarian philology. “We are subjected to something unthinkable and unheard of in the history of the BSP. Yesterday we were brothers, now we are enemies. Let it not be forgotten that every split leads to ruin,” said the young socialist Nikola Vankov, a medical student and one of the first volunteers in the COVID department of UMBAL “St. George”. “Ninova aims to liquidate the party in Plovdiv, but my party is not being sold or replaced with posts. Let’s make it so that the BSP will have it for at least another 130 years,” urged the young socialist Tanya Nikolova.
Ninova leads the BSP to non-existence – this is the general position of the Conference, motivated by 22 speeches during the meeting. The speakers emphasized the participation of the BSP in the hawkish and Russophobic coalition, which is the most painful topic for the socialists. According to them, the slippery wording with which the so-called red lines cannot fool people. They expect another betrayal of the national interest and on the issue with North Macedonia. BSP cannot be hostage to the personal ambitions for realization and the personal benefit of a few functionaries, the socialists were categorical. We will not allow illiterate people to be a factor in the Plovdiv party organization, the delegates declared. Therefore, they are starting an explanatory campaign, and every rank-and-file party member will be made aware of the objective facts. “BSP is not SDS and Ninova will not close the party, as Kostov did! We will not allow it!”, the delegates were emphatic.
“Thank you for being here despite the enormous pressure you have been subjected to, from threats to offers of future benefits. I am glad that my comrades from Plovdiv do not sell themselves and do not surrender, which fills these words with content and does not leave them without a cover, as at a congress a chairman who did not resign!”, Vakrilova said in her speech, after the delegates sang the national anthem.
District Associates were recognized by the Conference for their dedicated work in the field. The acting chairman of the City Council, Associate Professor Angel Ivanov, presented them with bouquets of flowers to the thunderous applause of the hall. With fighting spirit and faith in the truth, Plovdiv socialists will celebrate the 130th anniversary of the party organization. They are starting preparations for local elections, not excluding the hypothesis of an early parliamentary vote. “With today’s meeting, we are giving a signal to our comrades throughout the country. Let them not be afraid, but face the vicious party gang that is leading the BSP to liquidation,” concluded Associate Professor Angel Ivanov.
