Discussions continue between AC Milan and Giroud but the Lombard club wants a free arrival of the striker.
Many clubs rubbed their hands thinking about June 30th. Not to know the quarter-finalists of Euro 2020 but to be able to take action for Olivier Giroud. With an expiring contract with Chelsea, they could also do so from January 1, 2021 but it is on July 1 that Giroud would officially be a free player.
Except that nothing went as planned for the courtiers as well as for the French striker himself. Having a head start on everyone else, Chelsea decided to activate the option which allowed them to automatically trigger an additional year at Giroud with the Blues.
