The organizers of the Īslīce Culture House in Bauska region on Friday, September 25, at the charity concert “Wings together” will collect donations for families with children or young people with functional disorders, the organizers informed.

The charity concert is organized by the association “Laiks Jauniešiem” in cooperation with Bauska region Codes parish administration.

The funds donated to the concert will be donated to the association “Ābulis”, which was founded in 2013, and it employs about 20 families with children or young people with functional disorders. In 2018, the association received the award of the competition “Annual Award for Support of People with Disabilities” in the nomination “Child Support” for outstanding achievements in defending the rights and interests of children with disabilities in various fields.

Musicians Varis Vētra, Normunds Rutulis, Miks Dukurs, Arturs Gruzdiņš, Rūta Dūduma-Ķirse, Deniss Stepanovs, group “Carnelian”, group “Bekars” and pop group “Sapnītis” will perform in the charity concert “We form wings together”. Children’s creative activities and games will be taken care of by the fairy-tale characters of the creative association “Fairytale House”.

“We can’t get into families where a person has a disability unless we are in direct contact with those families, but we can help them.

Usually Christmas is the time when these kinds of concerts are held, but these families don’t just live on Christmas, “

said Kaspars Kalējs, the producer of the event and an employee of Codes parish in work with youth.

Gints Jankovskis, the chairman of the board of Laiks Jauniešiem, explained that families with children with disabilities can receive support from the state and local government, but the availability of services and individual aids and the possibility to adjust them individually, not money and benefits, is what families with children and young people with disabilities often ask. Currently, families point out that the service is, but the amount allocated is not enough for its full use, there are also problems with the individualization of some means or services. The head of the association “Laiks Jauniešiem” points out that the charity concert is organized together with active young people from Codes, Dāviņš and Īslīce parishes. It is an opportunity for young people to help and learn to organize events, also promoting better communication between the young people of the parish.
