Sting ran this program successfully in America and Europe even before the global Covid-19 pandemic began. It has already been reported that Sting’s concert with the “My Songs” program was already scheduled for 2020, but was canceled due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year it was planned that the musician could visit Latvia in the spring of 2022, however, due to the restrictions, the concert was again postponed.
Sting, who led the Police from 1977 to 1984, won 17 Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, a Golden Globe and Emmy, four Oscars and a nomination for “Tony”, “Billboard” magazine’s “Century Award” and in 2004 “MusiCare” named the artist “Man of the Year”.
Sting has sold more than 100 million album copies both as a member of the band “The Police” and as a solo artist. He was also honored at the BMI Pop Awards for his hit song “Every Breath You Take”, which became the “most listened to song” with 15 million radio plays from the BMI catalog of over 14 million music tracks. More recently, the song was also added to the “Billion Club” of the music streaming site Spotify, where it has been played more than a billion times.
