Kraak & Smaak (NL), Cari Cari (AT), Ina West (PL), Kill the Dandies! (CZ), Lash & Gray (SK) – the 10th VéNégy Festival awaits in Nagymaros between June 22 and 25 with an invigorating international offer and more than half a hundred music programs. In the line-up worthy of the jubilee, the Hungarian top is represented, Bagossy Brothers Company, Belga, Beton.Hofi, Blahalouisiana, Carson Coma, Dzúdló, Elefánt, Halott Pénz, among others, are coming to Nagymaros. The main performer of the festival will be Sharon KOVACS, the soul diva inspired by Amy Winehouse. The velvet-voiced Dutch singer is coming with her new album ‘Child Of Sin’, for the title track of which she even managed to seduce the singer of Rammstein, Till Lindemann, for a duet.
A rising star shines on the opening day of the jubilee VéFégy Festival. KOVACS (NL) her name may sound Hungarian, but the 32-year-old singer of German-Dutch descent actually only took the name of her foster father when she was very young. He also only visited Hungary at this time and during the Sziget Festival performance. “I always feel very comfortable in Hungary, the people are amazingly kind. I know that Kovács is a very common surname, I often compare myself to other Kovács, that we must be distant relatives.” – said the singer.
He likes to categorize his musical genre mostly in the soul style, especially because all his songs are sung from the heart and soul. Her biggest inspirations are Etta James, Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse, but she also likes to sing David Bowie’s classics in the shower. THE ’Shades of Black’ the whole world noticed his debut album. The domestic audience was lucky enough to catch him at the Sziget Festival in 2016, since then no one has managed to bring him, but now he said yes to the invitation of the VéNégy Festival. Her performance and charisma have risen to even greater heights since then, she is soaring like a comet, in June we can welcome a real soul diva in the Danube bend, who has a good chance of competing to match her role model, Amy Winehouse. Child Of Sin comes with his latest and most honest album to date, for which he even managed to seduce the singer of Rammstein, Till Lindemann, for one song, they sing a duet on the album’s title track.
In addition to KOVACS, he also represents the Netherlands at Glastonbury and the Coachella festivals Kraak & Smaak (NL), who bring a unique blend of funk, hip-hop and soul to Nagymaros.
On June 22, he will take the stage Kill The Dandies! (CZ). The Czech band comes straight from Prague. Inspired by the world of David Lynch films, the rawness of The Velvet Underground, and the ballads of Lee Hazlewood, the formation combines psychedelia, soul, 70s disco and post-punk. The band also won the Czech Lion award for the best soundtrack with their composition How To Hold A Gun written for the movie Occupation.
The line-up of the opening day will also be enriched by Search Search (AT). The Austrian duo consists of Stephanie Louise Widmer and Alexander Köck. The duo was discovered in Barcelona at the Primavera Sound Festival, with their surreal concert even the staff of The Rolling Stones Magazine were taken off their feet, they are also described as “the love child of The Kills and The XX”, with a “touch of Moriccon” and “Cat Seasoned with the raw power of Power. They primarily play indie rock, but they freely draw from different musical styles, transforming their own feelings, desires, and thoughts into melodies. Like Cari Cari, the Polish singer, Ina West (PL) also bravely experiments with different musical styles. He plays trance, abstract and dance pop mixed with elements of modern Polish folk and jazz. It combines the minimalist coolness of Moderat with the concert elegance of Die Antword. In his concerts, he combines classical instruments – drums, synthesizers, violin, bass guitar – with dance bits and raw vocal harmonies. On June 23, he will make the audience dance during the night in Nagymaros.
The lineup of V4 bands is formed by Kristin Lash and Jakob Grey, a Lash & Grey (SK) closes. Combining jazz and soul, the duo conquered the most famous international stages with stormy speed. In addition to the love of the audience, they also bagged many awards, in addition to Slovakia, they won the accolades for the best debut album, the best single, and the best album in the Czech Republic. On the Saturday of the festival, they will give a concert on the wild Danube bank, accompanied by the waves of the Danube and the sunset.
As the night falls and the stars light up, electronic music and harder beats take over, on June 24 one of the most exciting figures of the techno scene, the Jordanian DJ, visited the clubs in Berlin and London. Badaro is coming to VéNégy-Part for a banging techno party.
