The company “Škoda Vagonka” must deliver the remaining new electric trains by the end of July

Previously, PV reported that a mutual agreement was signed between the companies to extend the delivery dates of the new electric trains until the end of the summer, so a specific date has now been set.

PV added that at the same time we should not forget that the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has still not disappeared.

It has already been reported that “Škoda Vagonka” has currently delivered a total of 19 new electric trains to PV out of the planned 32 trains. Therefore, 13 more new electric trains must be delivered to “Skoda Vagonka” by the end of July.

The representatives of the two companies previously explained that the agreement on the extension of the delivery dates was concluded based on the analysis provided by independent experts on the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the fulfillment of the contractual obligations.

In order to determine the impact caused by the war on the performance of the contract, “Škoda Vagonka” submitted an opinion prepared by the expert “Deloitte Advisory”, while for the evaluation of the opinion, PV hired the legal consultant “PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal”, which evaluated the indicated circumstances affecting the performance of the contract.

The legal consultant concluded that the conditions indicated in the opinion are considered objective and are justified for the extension of the terms of delivery of electric trains specified in the contract, since none of the parties could foresee these conditions at the time of the conclusion of the contract.
