The 100% business class airline resumed operations on its New York-Nice seasonal line on Saturday. Delta is relaunching this transatlantic service this Thursday.
This Saturday, the Compagnie Boutique Airline marked the big comeback of the New York – Nice direct lines, and at the same time, that of American customers on the Côte d’Azur. The French airline’s A321 was full, with 76 passengers on board. This was the first of three weekly flights that it will operate between New York Newark and Nice from July 2 to September 27, the same number of frequencies as in 2019, the year the line was launched.
«In 2019, 70% of the traffic on this line came from the United States, recalls Christian Vernet, President of La Compagnie. Given the opening of French borders to American passengers this summer, we anticipate an even greater polarity this year. The Company is now hoping for American reciprocity to allow the French Riviera to leave for New York until the end of September from Nice and ensure the continuity of the line.».
Delta will relaunch the New York-JFK Nice-Côte d’Azur line this Thursday, July 8, with three weekly B767-400ER connections.
Christian Vernet, in an interview with Simple Flying this Sunday, also indicated that the company was looking at the long-range Airbus A321neo XLR (8,700 km), whose certification is scheduled for 2023 or 2024; The device would make it possible to carry out flights of around ten hours and connect France to the Middle East, Asia, and even the West Coast of the United States.
