The Committee of the Council refuted the report on the new version of the law on mobilization

Oleksandr Zavitnevich, the head of the Committee on National Security, denied the information about the introduction of a revised bill on mobilization to the Verkhovna Rada.

He wrote about it on Facebook.

“As of now, no such bills have been sent from the government to the Verkhovna Rada. As soon as such a document appears, society will learn about it from official sources, and the bill itself will be available for review on the parliament’s website,” Zavitnevich emphasized.

He urged the mass media to use official sources.

LB.UA’s sources in the security committee confirmed that, as of now, the updated version of the government bill has not been registered in the parliament. Also, the members of the project preparation working group added that no meetings of the group and the Verkhovna Rada are planned for February 25, as some mass media reported.

“This is a fake and a throw-in. There is no draft text. It is raw and is still being refined in the Government,” said one of the People’s Deputies of the Defense Committee.

“I also confirm that this is a fake. Because the deputies do not have a text,” added another member of the National Security Committee.

“We haven’t received the text yet. Neither has the table that appeared in the media,” said another member of the Defense and Intelligence Committee.

What is happening with the draft law on mobilization

  • The profile parliamentary committee began consideration of a new draft law on mobilization on January 4. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala and Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov came for the report.
  • Finally, on January 11, the conciliation council met, after which the head of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, announced that the draft law on mobilization had been returned to the Cabinet for finalization.
  • At the meeting of the committee, it was decided to remove the norm that would allow sending summonses by e-mail, said Yehor Chernev, deputy chairman of the committee on defense issues. According to him, it is impossible to control and it is impossible to find out whether a person received such a summons.
  • There was also a question regarding the conscription of people with disabilities – the Council wants, as before, all groups of such people not to be mobilized.
  • Before that, the anti-corruption committee identified a number of norms in the document that could lead to corruption risks.
  • On January 15, Deputy Minister of Defense Nataliya Kalmykova stated that a new version of the bill on mobilization will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in a few weeks.
