The attempted robbery of Banco Provincia de La Plata was recorded by the branch’s security cameras and the images show the ferocity of the four criminals dressed as policemen who, this Wednesday, heavily armed, broke into the place and took hostages to escape.
The robbery was frustrated by chance, because several Buenos Aires agents arrived at the scene to collect their salaries. They entered just after the band.
The shocking images accessed by the 0221.com.ar site show the assailants wearing ski masks and carrying machine guns, pushing customers towards the checkout area.

As can be seen, they forced the people who operated at the ATMs to enter the branch, threw them to the ground and, when they were about to get the cash, the real police arrived.

The attempted robbery occurred at the branch located at the intersection of 1st and 67th streets, where four assailants entered who, according to eyewitnesses, wore dark clothes and vests of the Buenos Aires Police.

Once inside the bank, they headed around the side to the locked treasury door. In that place they spoke with an employee when the real troops entered.

At that moment they shouted: “The police!” There, they hid behind a woman until they got out and got into a white Chevrolet Onix, in which they fled. Immediately, the authorities began a follow-up through the security cameras in the area, but still could not locate them.
During this Wednesday, the communications of the Police came to light, when they warned about the assault and the taking of hostages. “The vest correctly placed, please,” modulated an agent who coordinates the dispatch of troops to the place. “She has two escape routes,” she told her colleagues who arrived at the bank while the robbers were still inside.

“Three men with long weapons in the bank are holding several people in the place hostage,” he reported, adding that there were troops at the door and outside the bank. Later, he expanded that the criminals had already fled. “Last sighting of 67, going down to 1 and 122. A white Onix,” police radio detailed.
After the episode was made public, the Provincia bank reported that: “The Bank complied with all the security protocols provided and preserved the integrity and security of all the people present.”
