The commander of the “Wagner” called on Putin to stop the war in Ukraine

The commander of the Russian private army “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin called on the Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war in Ukraine.

“For the state power and for society today, it is necessary to put a thick point on the special military operation”Prigozhin wrote over the weekend in a message published by the group’s press office.

“The ideal option is to announce that Russia has achieved all of its goals – in a sense, we have indeed achieved them.”, said his statement, quoted by bTV. On the Orthodox Easter, “Wagner” released over 100 Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Russian forces invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, but were repulsed from the capital Kyiv and other cities. However, they control large areas in eastern and southern Ukraine, as well as the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow back in 2014.
