The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, congratulated the servicemen on the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine.
This is stated in messages in the Telegram channel.
“Dear comrades in arms! I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine! April 30 is a very symbolic day in the history of Ukrainian border guards,” the message reads.
Oleksandr Syrsky reminded that today is dedicated to the events of the end of April 1918, when the Donetsk group of the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic under the command of Colonel Volodymyr Sikevych, liberating Barvinkovo, Slavyansk, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Mykytivka, Kolpakiv and a large part of the Ukrainian Donbas from the Russian occupation, reached the internationally recognized border of the Ukrainian People’s Republic with Russia.
“Ukrainian border guards must once again return to the modern internationally recognized borders of Ukraine,” emphasized the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Oleksandr Syrskyi added that the feat of Ukrainian defenders from the Luhansk border detachment, who did not betray their oath and heroically resisted Russian aggression in 2014, will forever remain in the memory of the Ukrainian people.
“In the same way, we remember the courage of the border guards – the heroes of the defense of Mariupol in 2022. Currently, military personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, side by side with military personnel of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, are destroying the Russian occupiers directly on the front line,” he said.
Oleksandr Syrskyi thanked all the personnel of the State Border Service of Ukraine for their loyalty to the oath, courage, courage, self-sacrifice in the fight for the Independence of Ukraine!
“Eternal glory and eternal memory to all Ukrainian border guards who gave the most valuable thing for freedom – their own lives! Glory to the Ukrainian border guards! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!” – says the greeting.
