The Colombian lost his home after a raging fire in California, USA and is asking for help

The Colombian Julián Piragua has experienced a tragedy, after his house was consumed by a fire this weekend which led him to lose the things obtained during his stay in California, United States. The young man is turning to digital platforms so that the solidarity of relatives and compatriots can help him move forward.

In his Facebook account, Piragua explained that the flames spread on Saturday ―November 19―, after the water heater in his home (in the city of Sacramento) failed. The compatriot commented that there were no injuries, but that all the things he had “built up over many years and effort” were reduced to ashes.

“I’m sorry to resort to people’s help and not only in these times when the economy is quite weak, but it’s the only way to be able to recover the things necessary to restart. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this far and thank you very much for your good energy ”, he thanked by sharing photographs of what his residence was like until a few days ago.

Through the Gofundme portal, a woman, who identifies herself as Nicole Varga, is helping Piragua raise funds with which to start over. She says the fire not only destroyed this house and affected her boyfriend, but also that a cousin who was visiting lost his papers and other personal belongings.

The girl explains that Julián is an artist and former lawyer who traveled from Colombia and lives with his pet Ham (who also managed to emerge from the flames undefeated). In her story, she explains that nothing was recovered from the house and that the donations will go towards helping him find a new shelter, recovering his belongings (as well as those of his relative) and assisting him with clothing and food as he recovers the life of he.
