It’s the first site of this type in Yvelines. Located in the heart of the Val-Fourré district and with a capacity of 600 students, it is due to open its doors at the start of the September 2021 school year. It will welcome middle school students who are currently educated in the sector colleges, André-Chénier and Paul- Cezanne.

Romary Boutout, the departmental council’s major projects director, went to the site on Thursday, January 14 for a site visit in the presence of the builder in order to make a progress report within six months of the delivery of the building.
The concept is innovative. The building was constructed in a U shape and innovative materials were used. The architecture is ultra-modern, thin concrete slats will be attached to the glass walls to serve as sun screens.
The architecture has nothing to do with classical establishments. No more concrete blocks. Place to an ultra modern set with glass facades to provide maximum clarity in the premises. A patio decorated with plantations has even been created in the middle of the main building to create a natural light well.
An innovative college
Romary Boutot also highlights the innovative operation of this new college where the priority is to promote living together and learning.
The establishment will of course include classes but also seminar rooms, a cafeteria, an amphitheater, a climbing wall and four reference houses.
By creating reference houses, the designers wanted to make a nod to the Harry Potter film saga where the sorcerer’s apprentices were divided into groups. So in order to take up this spirit, the college of the future includes four specific rooms with a capacity of 150 students. College students will meet there regularly to work in groups on different projects. The themes of these workshops will be defined by the educational teams of the establishment.
