On Wednesday October 13, 5th C and 5th D students from Albert-Camus College received a visit from Alex Cousseau, author of children’s literature, present in Aveyron for the Sainte-Radegonde Youth Literature Festival.
The students welcomed him by presenting him with reading boxes made for the occasion with their plastic arts teacher, Mr. Jankowski. These creations have taken on the most diverse forms to illustrate with originality scenes or characters from the author’s first novel, Poisson-Lune, read in class with their French teacher, Ms. Bauguil.
Then, the college students were able to ask many questions to the author who was very available and attentive. He told them the story of the birth of his first novel, his choices and writing techniques, the care he likes to bring to his characters. The young readers appreciated this extremely rich exchange which allowed them to discover a little more closely the writing profession and the creative diversity of Alex Cousseau who likes to write illustrated albums for toddlers as well as stories. wonderful dragon expressions in Alexandrines, children’s revolutions from all over the world or even adventure novels for teenagers.
Finally, after a little writing game on the theme of the five senses, and reading a few texts by Alex Cousseau, everyone was entitled to their little dedication on their book, a memory of this precious meeting.
