the collective announces the continuation of the mobilizations

Monday evening, in Corte, the coordination bringing together all the nationalist forces called for “gatherings in front of the prefectures” this Tuesday. The collective will also be “represented in its plurality” during discussions with the Minister of the Interior, expected in Corsica this Wednesday.

Two days before the visit to the island of the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, the coordination bringing together almost all of the nationalist family met on Monday evening at the University of Corsica. Objective: to define the strategy of the next mobilizations in support of Yvan Colonna and the “political” prisoners.

After more than four hours of meeting between political leaders, students and trade unions, the collective made up of 21 organizations noted that it “will be represented in its plurality during the discussions“with the Minister of the Interior and that he”Strongly defends its demands: Justice and truth for Yvan, freedom for all patriots, recognition of the Corsican people “and a political solution for Corsica”.

In a statement read to the media, the collective called “to continue the mobilizations and to amplify it in the days that will follow“. From this Tuesday, rallies will take place in front of the prefectures and sub-prefectures of the island.

It should be noted that the Isula morta operation, particularly desired by the student unions, was not retained.

The University blocked

Organized the day after the demonstration in Bastia which brought together several thousand people, this meeting follows a new day of mobilization in several establishments on the island.

In Corte, the faculty is still blocked. No lessons are given on site. “Faithful to its commitments, the Università di Corsica is present alongside its students to support them in their mobilizationssays the University. In order to respect the student mobilization, a pedagogical continuity will be implemented from this day (teaching by videoconference and filing of documents on the digital workspace) because the future of Corsica also passes through the future of each student.”

In the morning, the three nationalist student unions (GI, GP and CGC) addressed the Government jointly: “the only way out of the current situation is a favorable response to the three demands made yesterday in the streets of Bastia“, they write in the same press release. A text in which the three organizations called “to amplify the mobilization and the balance of power to make the State give in and to a total blockage of the institutions in Corsica”.

While taking note of the arrival of Gérald Darmanin, the unions “want to participate, alongside the collective, in negotiations to get out of the current situation“.

“Partial blockages”

In high schools, the mobilization does not weaken. This Monday, six establishments in Corse-du-Sud and five in Haute-Corse were again impacted by demonstrations in support of prisoners of the “Commando Erignac”. “The blockages are partial most of the timespecifies the Rectorate of the Academy which indicates that “the school complex of Fiumorbu is still completely blocked today and that a blockage is also observed at the college of Lucciana“.

We decided to maintain the blockade to continue to put pressure on the stateexplains Clemente Geronimi, a Terminale student at the Giocante high school in Bastia. We should think more about our studies, but we, in the group that organized this blockage, we all have the same opinion: we don’t want to live, study and work in a society that we don’t like.”

Among the teachers present this morning in front of the Giocante high school in Casabianca, some felt that these students did not “should not sacrifice their future and that of others for ideas“.

You have to understand that there are those who want to work, go to school and can’t, highlighted Christophe Zuccarelli, professor of Mathematics at the Bastia institution. There are parents who are starting to get bored. In the morning, there are tensions at the entrance to the school. Blocking school can be a one-time thing, but if it’s long term, it won’t benefit anyone. Especially since there are specialty tests coming up soon and also the problem of Parcoursup for the students.”

In Ajaccio, this Monday morning, the Cullettivu di i liceani corsi held a press conference in front of the gates of the Laetitia high school, which was also blocked. “We continue the blockages at least until the arrival of Gérald Darmanin this Wednesdaylocates Jean-Laurent Morazzani, Terminale student at Fesch High School and spokesman for the Cullettivu. We are going to ask that a delegation of high school students be able to take part in the discussions with the Minister of the Interior.”

This Monday evening, we did not yet know the official program of the 48-hour visit to Corsica by Gérald Darmanin.
