NEW YORK – This Halloween, the ghosts in the tri-state area will be saying “brrrr” instead of “boo.”
After a mostly humid week, the coldest air of the season comes in overnight on Saturday. Many woke up to near-record temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Outside of New York City, much of the area is likely to be near or below freezing at least during the morning hours, with a severe frost threatening the suburbs.
Despite the low temperatures, there will be some thaw in areas that saw some build-up, resulting in patches of ice on roads and sidewalks.
