The Coalition removes map builder from Gears 5, everyone gets achievements

The Coalition reports this via Twitter. The developer says his focus is shifting to other games, which is why the map builder is being taken offline. The achievements that players can earn in this mode will be preserved and will be awarded immediately to anyone who starts the game after the latest update.

The players who got the corresponding achievements before the mode was removed will get some in-game bonuses. Those who achieved the ‘I made it all by myself’ achievement (by creating and publishing an Escape Hive map) will receive an exclusive banner. Whoever completes ‘Homegrown Hive’ (by playing on a player-created Escape Hive map) will get 10,000 coins in the game.

Removing the Map Builder doesn’t just mean that players can no longer create new maps. The previously created maps can no longer be downloaded and played, reports a moderator van Gears of War-content.
