Baghdad – Anatolia – The spokesman of the international coalition led by the United States of America against Isis, Steve Warren, has expressed the expectation that the battle to reconquer the city of Mosul, the center of the Governorate of Nineveh, in northern Iraq , from the organization may be “difficult, bloody and long.”
This was stated in a press conference held yesterday at the US embassy in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
Warren said: “The coalition expects the presence of 5 to 8 thousand elements (whose nationalities have not been mentioned) from ISIS in Mosul.”
While he expected “difficult and bloody” to recover Mosul from the organization, he stressed that the Iraqi forces “will win the victory over ISIS, thanks to the training and military equipment that has been provided to them”.
