The coach’s explanation about the MU Goalkeeper Vest which is the spotlight of citizens in the 2021 Menpora Cup

BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – Goalkeeper Madura United, M. Ridho stole the attention when appearing in the opening match of Group C Menpora Cup 2021 against PSS Sleman, Tuesday (23/03/2021) night.

Appearing as a starter, M. Ridho appeared prominently wearing a pink training vest throughout the first half.

The unusual sight has become the talk of many netizens.

Similarity in color between jersey Madura United goalkeeper and player PSS Sleman suspected to be the reason the goalkeeper must wear a training vest.

Responding to this unique incident, coach Rahmad Darmawan start talking.

He said there was indeed a communication error during the MCM session (match coordination meeting) which is carried out the day before the match.

“Yesterday, we used Madura United as the host jersey team and jersey GK (goal keeper) what we want is green, “said RD, Rahmad Darmawan’s nickname.

“The PSS Sleman guest team was also not mistaken when they stated that they were wearing a green jersey and a yellow GK,” said RD added.

Whether because of inaccuracy or lack of communication, in the end jersey submitted by the two teams was approved.

In fact, in the submission, there is a color similarity between the Madura United goalkeeper jersey and jersey PSS Sleman players.

The similarity in the color of the uniforms was only seen when the two teams met jersey complete each.

“Because during MCM, match cop and referee (the referee) had no objections, ”said the coach from Lampung.

“When I competed, I just found out that jersey the guests are the same as our goalkeeper as the host, ”he said.

The problem was complicated because Madura United did not bring a spare jersey for the goalkeeper.

According to regulations, matches should be postponed or rescheduled because of color jersey the two teams must be different.

Finally, because they didn’t want the problem to drag on, Madura United decided to give in.

“We didn’t bring any other colors, but in the first half, we gave in so that the match went on schedule,” said RD.

“The second half, we use it jersey which just arrived from the hotel, ”said the Madura United coach explaining the incident of his goalkeeper vest in the match against PS Sleman in the 2021 Menpora Cup.
