The club of former mandataries of the SVP defends the former governor in view of the Durnwalder verdict:

Alt-LH Luis Durnwalder has rendered extraordinary services to South Tyrol. The South Tyrolean population is proud of his achievements and thanks him. This is stated by the SVP-CLUB of the old mandataries in a press release. The “strange judgment” of the Court of Auditors does not change that. In the South Tyrolean population, the verdict is perceived as disturbing and detrimental to trust in law and justice. Regrettably, the court had reduced its own credibility in this matter. The verdict raises serious legal questions. The population feels that their sense of justice has been violated by the verdict, the press release concludes.
