Hibernian is confident of tying the coveted Josh Doig to a new contract despite interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Leeds United, as reported by Edinburgh News.
One of the most exciting young players in Scottish football may have added a few more pennies to his price, not that Hibs plans to sell, of course.
Doig was in supreme form when Jack Ross’s team beat Hamilton Accies 2-0 on Saturday, assisting one and scoring the other, his first senior goal at the age of 18.

It was the kind of performance that explains why Doig has so many fans south of the border.
Goal reports The Premier League trio, Leeds, Arsenal and Man City, are excited about the £ 1 million defender.
Meanwhile, Celtic are embarking on a substantial summer rebuild and would apparently seize the opportunity to bring Doig from Edinburgh to Glasgow, especially with Diego Laxalt’s long-term future as a left-back uncertain.
But according to reports from the Scottish capital, Doig could be about to compromise his future with the Easter Road team.

The Hibernian are confident of reaching a new contract, a huge blow for a club that ranks third in the Premiership table.
“He has a great future in the game: his pace, his physique, his size for his age. He will only learn from the games he is playing, ”Hibs defensive partner Paul Scanlon told Edinburgh Live.
“There are small adjustments here and there that I would like him to make to his game, but they are just small mistakes that I made every week and he has a team full of guys willing to help him.
“He definitely has a great future in the game.”
