Weather Alert: the Civil Protection launches a New Bad Weather Warning! Still strong winds, rain and snow
National civil protection alert Wednesday 31 March there will be some kind of winter tail shot on Italy: they arrive rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and even snow up to low altitude.
On the basis of the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions which extends the previous ones. The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department’s website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
For the day of Thursday March 31:
Rainfall: – from scattered to widespread, also of a reverse or temporal nature, in Campania, with moderate or punctually high cumulative quantities in the central-southern sectors; – scattered, even with a reverse or temporal character, over northern Tuscany, the northern Apennines, the Marches, Umbria, southern Lazio and western Basilicata, with moderate cumulative quantities; – from isolated to scattered, even in reverse or short-term nature, over the rest of Italy, with generally low cumulative quantities, punctually moderate in the Center-South and in the Triveneto.
Snowfall: above 1300-1500m in the alpine sectors, with weak or punctually moderate contributions to the ground. Visibility: no significant phenomenon. Temperatures: minimum in a significant local increase in the Center-South, maximum significantly increasing in the North-West and in the Ionian sectors.
Winds: from strong to stormy from the southern quadrants on Puglia and locally on the Ionian sectors of Basilicata and Calabria; locally strong from the southern quadrants on the rest of the South and on the central Tyrrhenian sector; locally strong western ones on Sardinia and from the afternoon on Sicily and on the Tyrrhenian sectors, with gusts of storm on northern Sardinia.
Big: tending to agitated the Ionian and the central Adriatic, the remaining basins very rough, from the evening locally rough the Sea of Sardinia

The information on the regional alert levels, on the specific criticalities that could affect the individual territories and on the prevention actions adopted are managed by the territorial civil protection structures, in contact with which the Department will monitor the evolution of the situation.
