The Civil Guard of Alicante, together with the National Police of Murcia, dismantle a criminal group specialized in the theft of inhabited homes. Five men and one woman, all of Spanish nationality, have been arrested in the operation.
The agents detected their activity both in the neighboring community and in the province of Alicante, where they robbed two homes in Benejúzar and another in Catral.
This criminal group divided the tasks, divided into two sections: an operative nucleus in charge of carrying out robberies with force at home and others in charge of discharging the stolen objects. They also had a local accomplice for the sale of gold, who acquired part of the loot, without registering this purchase.
The agents carried out three searches in Murcia, where jewels, watches, among other gold elements have been intervened. On the other hand, the place of sale had instruments to melt the metal, so it is suspected that they were used to melt the jewels and that they were not linked to the various thefts.
A rental vehicle used to perpetrate thefts and jewelry of various kinds and metal has also been seized. Of the six detainees, three have entered prison and three have been released on charges.
