The Civil Guard has arrested Víctor de Aldama, the organizer of the ‘Koldo case’ plot, for his integration into a network dedicated to hydrocarbon fraud, according to sources in the Sixth investigation. The plot would have defrauded the Treasury of 182 million euros in two years. Aldama, who was president of the Zamora Football Club, would have played a mediator role in the hydrocarbon fraud plot that agents from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office are investigating.

The operation, which is being directed by the judge of the National Court Santiago Pedraz in coordination with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, has been carried out since Monday morning in several provinces, especially in Madrid, Salamanca and Cáceres. At the moment, 14 people have been arrested, including Aldama, and 11 searches have been carried out at homes and company headquarters. As laSexta has learned, the National Court has ordered the entry and search of Aldama’s house.

Víctor de Aldama is considered a “commission agent” in the Koldo case plot, in which irregularities in the adjudication of mask purchases in the COVID pandemic are being investigated.

“High capacity for corruption”

The operation, of which the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime issued a press release this Monday, investigates a series of instrumental corporate networks, used both for fraud against the Public Treasury and “for the laundering of funds.” illicitly obtained”.

Furthermore, the Prosecutor’s Office highlights the “high complexity” of this investigation compared to other criminal networks, since the hydrocarbon activity, “added to the millionaire profits obtained in very short periods of time”, allow these organizations to position themselves in spheres of power and achieve “a high capacity for corruption among Administration officials. The proceedings have been declared secret.
