MTA officials urge New York City residents to exercise caution after severe flooding was reported at several train stations.
“This flash flood emergency is destroying infrastructure throughout the region. Subways are no exception,” said Acting MTA President Janno Lieber.
“There are several areas where the water level has risen. It has made it impossible for the trains to move and the system is providing a very, very limited service. Therefore, we urge everyone not to use it,” he added.
All train service in New York City is currently suspended, the MTA said in a tweet.
