The “EK Patisserie” shop, in Les Carmes, has been offering pastries popularized by social networks since September. A real success!
On the marble display, the pastries are highlighted. It must be said that the New York Rolls are the heyday of the “EK Patisserie” shop in Les Carmes. Since they went on sale in September, customers have been snapping them up. Every week, the store sells nearly 500 of them.
The round viennoiserie, popularized by social networks, is composed of a croissant dough filled with a cream and decorated with icing. But Egleh Menossi, the manager, did not discover her on Tiktok, unlike the majority of her customers. It was during a trip to New York that she spotted it. “By tasting it, I knew it was a good idea to import it, says the pastry chef. In Toulouse, no other shop sells it, it seems to me.”
new customers
Every week, from Thursday to Sunday, “EK Patisserie” is taken by storm. “It’s not uncommon for us to sell out all the stock before Sunday. Many of our customers call us to reserve New York Rolls,” smiles Egleh Menossi.
For this success with multiple flavors (chocolate, vanilla, pistachio…), you have to pay five euros. Amanda, a 17-year-old customer, brags about the pastry to her mother, who eventually gives in. “A girl I follow on social networks advertised this pastry. On my way there, I saw that there were New York Rolls. It’s a very good discovery!”, testifies- she.
The Viennese pastry also offered a tremendous publicity stunt to the shop. Attendance increases over the weeks. The manager of “EK Patisserie” explains: “Some customers come only to taste it but when they come on Tuesday or Wednesday, days when we do not offer it, they fall back on d ‘other pastries’.
After finding the recipe for success, Egleh Menossi is working on new flavors for the star viennoiserie.
