Saint-Denis: the canteen will be free for kindergarten children from the start of the 2021 school year
The Municipal Council of January 28, 2021 of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis, Académie de Créteil) voted in favor of the establishment of free school canteens in nursery schools, informs the city in a press release from January 29. 700,000 euros will be allocated for this measure, which will come into force at the start of the 2021 school year and will concern 3,300 children. The city also recalls several of its actions in favor of school canteens: “35% organic products or products from eco-responsible agriculture, French Label Rouge meat, two vegetarian meals per week offered since October 2020, reduction of 30% of the waste compared to 2016, purchase of low-energy dishwashers, better ergonomics of workstations and canteens thanks to the acquisition of new tables and chairs for 80 refectories “.
