Last October, the city of Montluçon and Montluçon Communauté announced and implemented a sobriety plan aimed at reducing energy needs on all public facilities in order to respond to the increase in electricity costs but also gas and fuels.
Among the many measures taken, there are in particular:
• Reducing the periods of operation of public lighting;
• The limitation of heating temperatures in administrative, technical and association buildings;
• Lower temperatures in sports equipment.
Over the period from October 2022 to March 2023 of application of this plan, it is now possible to announce the achievement of the objective of -10% reduction in energy consumption.
A first assessment allows us to announce:
• – 18% on heating (in Mwh)
• – 11% on electricity in buildings and equipment (in Kwh)
• – 9% on public lighting (in Kwh)
The Aqualudique Center, after remarkable efforts, was also able to remain open in a difficult context and therefore accommodate many swimming clubs outside Montluçon Community.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, energy savings are possible and make it possible to partially absorb the effects of the increase in costs which remain, even today, at very high levels without jeopardizing the continuity of services. To the population.
By acting otherwise, Montluçon succeeded.
