The Brabant city of Maashorst has lost fifty works of art. Among the works is a screen print of Beatrix from the 1980s, made by Andy Warhol when she was queen. They may have been lost when the town hall was renovated.
The artworks were previously by Uden. It was one of the municipalities that merged with the new city of Maashorst in 2022. Before the merger, the Uden art collection was mapped. Several works of art have been lent to the Krona Museum in Uden, some are hanging in the new town hall and some have been returned to the artists.

The city says an internal investigation has already been conducted, but no decision has been made as to where the work went. That is why the city has now notified the police about the missing person.
In addition, an outside research group was hired to assist in locating artworks. That body must also advise “how to prevent such extinctions in the future”.
