The Municipality of Ioannina is holding a welcome event for first year students at the University of Ioannina on Monday, November 11 at 7 pm. in the room “D. Hadji”.
At the event, the Mayor of Ioannina, Tómas Begas, and the Rector of the University of Ioannina, Anna Batistatou, will address the new students, confirming the support of the city and the university to the student community.
Afterwards, the Emeritus Professor of the University of Ioannina, Apostolos Katsikis, will give the keynote address, entitled: “Ioannina, dialogue with history and time”, offering thoughts and inspirations for the academic and personal journey of the student in Ioannina.
The evening will be accompanied by music from the Camerata of the University of Ioannina, and the Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Ioannina will present the free tours it offers to introduce students to the history and beauty of the city.
