“A tailor-made partnership”, explains the town hall ofArgenteuil.
A few days after the municipal council unanimously approved this project, several elected officials accompanied the mayor (Lr) of Argenteuil and president of Boucle Nord de Seine, Georges Mothron, to theArab World Institute, Tuesday October 26, to sign a partnership agreement with Jack Lang, the president of this Parisian cultural institute, former Minister of Culture of François Mitterrand.
After a three-year partnership with the Quai Branly-Jacques-Chirac museum “Which made the works of this mythical museum shine in all districts”, the City of Argenteuil is working with the Institute of the Arab World to continue the adventure.
“Culture must be accessible to as many people as possible”
“Culture must be accessible to as many people as possible”, explains the municipality, which will soon be offering with Ima a whole series of events and activities for all ages: visits to the Institute, temporary exhibitions “outside -les-walls ”, educational activities with schools…
The cultural institute located in the heart of historic Paris invites the visitor to discover the Arab world, beyond received ideas, by presenting all the diversity of its cultures, ethnicities, languages, faiths, from its origins to our days.
It was designed to establish strong and lasting links between cultures and thus maintain a real dialogue between the Arab world, France and Europe.
It is currently hosting the exhibition “Lights of Lebanon ”.
