The City Hall of Sector 5 appeals to the Mayor General of the Municipality of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, to issue the necessary approvals for tree trimming and clearing of dry trees on the territory of Sector 5.
On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, the intervention teams of the Sector 5 City Hall are acting on the ground to remove dozens of trees for which there are requests for cleaning and/or clearing, which were brought down by the wind and rain in the Capital. Moreover, tram traffic on Progresului Road is blocked at the time of transmission of the press release, due to some branches falling over the electrical network.
In order not to endanger the safety of citizens and not to create material damage, the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone, appeals to the General Mayor, Nicușor Dan, for the urgent approval of the requests submitted in this regard.
“Our priority, of all mayors, is the safety of citizens. We need to act accordingly and do everything we can as councilors to ensure that people’s lives are not put at risk. Moreover, there is material damage that occurs due to fallen trees, damage that can be avoided in the future. I know that the Mayor General understands all these aspects and will cooperate with the City Hall of Sector 5. There are thousands of requests that we submitted to the Capital City Hall and are awaiting approval.”stated the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone.
In Sector 5 alone, 7,000 requests for cleaning and/or clearing trees are currently registered. All of this was submitted and registered at Bucharest City Hall, for approval.
