The City Council will increase credit to SMEs by eight million

The Governing Board of the Valladolid City Council approved today the modification of the ReactiVA call, which may reach up to 13 million euros. The modification of the call for direct granting of subsidies to self-employed workers and small companies with up to 20 workers in the municipality of Valladolid, allows the credit to be extended to an additional eight million euros in 2021, together with the five million that have already been granted in 2020. With today’s agreement, the spending of the first 1.4 million euros of this year is already authorized.

The new funds will be used exclusively for the “resolution of applications submitted within the period provided for the call”, therefore it does not imply opening a new period for new applications, but those that have already been submitted last year will be reviewed, a total of 6,576, of which more than 2,800 have been resolved.

The number of beneficiaries to date amounts to 2,231 who have received 4,932,750 euros. 90 percent are self-employed or small companies with less than six workers and the average amount is 2,211 euros. The call includes four types of benefits, between 750 and 4,000 euros depending on various circumstances such as the possession or not of a permanent establishment or the number of workers.

The management of this subsidy program, which started in June 2020 as a shock plan against the COVID crisis, is carried out by the Department of Innovation, Economic Development, through the Agency for Innovation and Economic Development and the award of the aid will be conditioned to the availability of the assigned credit.

The objective is “to protect and support the productive and social fabric to give continuity to economic activity and promote the maintenance of self-employment and employment in the process of economic reactivation, thereby avoiding an increase in levels of economic precariousness and social in the city and a higher unemployment rate “.
