The local government of A Coruña has celebrated this Saturday the sentence of the Superior Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG) that “endorses” that the urban bus line 1A crosses the municipal limit of A Coruña and reaches Santa Cristina.
For the mayor, Inés Rey, the verdict “tunes” with the government’s idea of creating a metropolitan transport network by extending urban lines to the first metropolitan ring in order to improve public transport and make it “more efficient”, as as -remarca- has been requested to the Xunta for a year.
In this way, the local government emphasizes that it is committed to extending the 1A route throughout the year and not only in the summer season, and puts as an example the “fruitful” collaboration between the city councils of A Coruña, Culleredo and Arteixo, which allows line 6 to end its itinerary in the municipality of Arteixo and for line 24 to perform a service under the terms of The Shoemaker, which belong to Culleredo and Arteixo.
In this way, the local government hopes that, with this judicial ruling, “it will not delay” in authorizing this itinerary that “would prevent many residents of A Coruña and Oleiros from using the car.”
