The delegate of Economy, Commerce, Relations with the University Community and the Metropolitan Area, Francisco Páez, and the president of the Sacred Art Gremial Association (AGSAS), Francisco Carrera Iglesias ‘Paquili’, have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting a series of measures to highlight the work of the association’s artisans and artists.
Specifically, the agreement includes the promotion, dissemination and encouragement of activities and events to support sacred art, as well as encouraging visits to the workshops of artisans and artists of the AGSAS. Likewise, it includes technical advice on entrepreneurship and innovation to the productive fabric, the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit and business culture and the promotion of generational change in Sevillian workshops and of those initiatives that arise in the field of research, studies and training on sacred art and the application of new technologies.
On the other hand, the dissemination of resources, events, content, meeting and, in general, any type of activity that is carried out or promoted by one of the parties involved and that involves the digital transformation of the sacred art sector is established; the establishment of new networks of trust between production, distribution and consumption; business culture and professional development; the improvement of the image of the sacred art of Seville; the increase in the digital presence of Sevillian artisans and artists of sacred art, or the creation of stable and quality employment in the city.
In order to achieve these objectives, participation in dynamization, promotion and research projects on this matter, cooperation in training programs or mutual advice, among others, will be favored.
“Sacred art is a traditional sector with great importance for our city and, therefore, from the City Council we want to support the work of so many artisans and artists who have also suffered particularly hard from the pandemic, spreading their work and encouraging that citizens come to its workshops where authentic works of art are made ”, highlighted Páez, who has emphasized the municipal support resulting from this agreement“ to promote entrepreneurship and the digital transformation of the sector ”.
