Two years ago, an agreement was established between City Bank and the Ministry for the Promotion of Investment, in order to develop a site dedicated to attracting investments on the national territory, through the platform ” City Builder “. This collaboration stems from Togo’s objective to leverage technology and encourage direct and foreign investment, to support the government’s 2025 roadmap. The platform being created, it was necessary to disclose it, in order to allow partners and investors to seize opportunities. Launched yesterday in Lomé, this platform is part of the country’s objectives to strengthen Togo’s attractiveness for foreign investors and to help them assess Togo as an investment destination. Also, ” City Builder in Togo allows investors to discover and analyze investment data, as well as development projects spread over the 5 administrative regions.

In effect, ” City Builder is a tool that adds to the digital ecosystem of the Free Zone Investment Promotion Agency and will improve the visibility of the many assets and investment opportunities offered by Togo, with a wide international audience. It brings together key social data: demographic, educational, tourist and economic data, in order to provide increased transparency on development opportunities, including an overview of the business climate in Togo. Targeted investment sectors include agriculture, aquaculture, transport, navigation, sport, as well as water and waste management. As for the projects, they aim to create sustainable employment opportunities for the communities. This platform is free and accessible to everyone.

« The mission of the Ministry of Investment Promotion is to perpetuate Togo’s ambition to become an attractive destination and to mobilize more investment (domestic and foreign) in the context of achieving our development and increase foreign direct investment flows “, underlined on this occasion, the Minister Kayi Rose Mivédor-Sambiani. For her, by making key social data more transparent and accessible, the ministry hopes to encourage foreign investors, partner offices, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations to find investment opportunities. To this end, she wanted this platform to highlight the importance and relevance of the approach, in order to further arouse the interest of investors worldwide.

West and Central Africa Managing Director of City Bank, Mr. Papa Massamba Sall, meanwhile, remarked that City Builder’s expansion into Togo will open an important new chapter in the City Africa franchise and represent the innovative use of digital technology, to support the economic development of the region.
