JAKARTA – Bank Indonesia responded to the video viral 1.0 denomination. In the video, it displays a sheet of paper with a nominal 1.0 and there is the inscription of Perum Peruri Specimen.
Recently, a TikTok video showing a user showing off a new Rp1 million note went viral on social media. The owner of the TikTok account @wandyskay shared the story that he had a new banknote from Bank Indonesia.

The Head of the Communications Department of Bank Indonesia (BI) Erwin Haryono said the picture of the money was money for Perum Peruri’s printing test and only for Peruri’s internal use. Peruri specimen money is not a legal tender.

“Thus, the money in the video is not Rupiah currency and is not a legal tender,” Erwin said when contacted by Okezone, May 10, 2021.
Erwin Haryono also emphasized that BI is the only institution authorized to issue and circulate legal rupiah currency throughout Indonesia.
