The Cianjur Health Office ensures that no resident has contracted the new clade avian flu

The Health Office (Dinkes) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, has confirmed that no resident has contracted or suffered from the new clade bird flu 2.3.4.4b, and for anticipation the agency is preparing an early warning letter for this case.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Cianjur District Health Office, Dr. Frida Laila Yahya in Cianjur on Tuesday, said that her party is preparing a letter of warning and caution for residents to avoid the new clade avian flu.

“We have just received an official notification letter from the West Java Provincial Health Office, so far there have been no reports of residents being infected, we hope there won’t be any,” he said.

Frida explained, Health Offices in provinces, regencies/cities were asked to prepare health facilities for the management of suspected cases of bird flu in accordance with established guidelines.

In addition, all health centers in Cianjur are asked to report immediately in less than 24 hours when they find a patient with a suspected case of bird flu. Meanwhile, various anticipatory efforts according to the Ministry of Health’s instructions will be carried out in all regions in coordination across agencies.

“We will also coordinate with related agencies, including the livestock service, to prevent the spread of bird flu in Cianjur,” he said.

Currently, he said, the Ministry of Health is raising awareness because of cases of a new variant of bird flu that has the potential to infect humans, so the Health Offices in each province, city and district are asked to follow up on instructions in terms of anticipating the spread that initially attacked Peking ducks.

“Currently, the new clade bird flu 2.3.4.4b has been declared an extraordinary event (KLB),” said Frida.
