Polda Metro Jaya explained mass organizations clash occurred in the area of Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, to be precise on the Jl Canal Rasuna Said. The clash of the mass organizations took place in front of the police who were mediating between the two groups.
The director of criminal investigations of the Polda metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi explained that the clashes that took place on Monday night (17/10) began with a conflict over land ownership.
“This case started with a land ownership dispute. Where there was a meeting between the two sides,” Hengki said at a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday (20/10 / 2022).

Mediation before the police

43 People get suspicious
The police then arrested dozens of people belonging to these two mafia groups. A total of 43 people were designated as to suspect.
“We secured a number of people from these two groups, where we identified 43 suspects,” Hengki said.
All suspects are subject to article 170 of the criminal code with a maximum prison sentence of 5 years. Then article 358 of the penal code with the maximum penalty of 2 years and 8 months. And also article 406 of the penal code with the maximum penalty of 2 years and 8 months.
Hengki said he would take decisive action against the acts of hooliganism. No group should be able to take supervisory action.
“We must emphasize that Jakarta zero thuggery is our determination. Therefore, this action is actually a warning that vigilante o vigilantism is prohibited it’s not allowed, ”Hengki said.
“No group feels above the law. Especially in the face of officers who commit acts against the law whose intentions were mediated yesterday and so on. Therefore, we will take action against anyone who carries out supervisory activities,” Hengki added.
