Christmas came a little earlier for the Hennessey family this year, when the company’s founder John attached a tree to his tuned 750-horsepower Porsche 911 Turbo S about a week ago. The Zuffenhausen sports car reached an impressive 175 mph (282 km / h), but the man behind the well-known American tuning company and hyperaut manufacturer was not completely satisfied.

That’s because the peculiar record of 181 mph (292 km / h) set a few years ago with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with 1,000 horsepower still applied. He decided to repeat the ride, but this time with his wife’s Audi RS6 Avant.

The supercar under the hood hides the secret of 800 horsepower, the 4-liter eight-cylinder with two turbochargers gained another 209 horsepower after the modification. The fast family car from Ingolstadt reached a speed of 205 mph (330 km / h) before installing the Christmas tree on the long roof.

The RS 6 Avant has a drag coefficient of Cx 0.35, but this no longer applies after you add a tree to its roof. Due to the fact that the airflow was far from ideal, the station wagon reached “only” 183 mph (295 km / h). As can be seen in the attached video, the Christmas tree survived even at these speeds.
