Art critic Tariq Al-Shennawy said that the national artworks that were presented recently, such as the series “The Choice”, made the Egyptians confirm the authenticity of the document.
He added, during an interview with the “Ninth” program on Channel One, on Sunday evening, that Egyptians of all classes felt that there was a nightmare that should be disposed of, while the people were not aware of the scenes.
He explained that the details presented by the national artwork embodied the catastrophe that would have befallen the homeland if the Brotherhood continued to rule, indicating that the state was subjected to attempts to change its identity, but they failed.
He pointed out that the Egyptian Opera House was targeted during that period, as part of the identity war that was targeting the homeland, stressing that artists and intellectuals were keen (in the years 2012-2013) to go permanently towards the Opera House to confront attempts to target it.
He pointed out that it was very important to document the events that the country witnessed in the past period, through dramatic works, explaining that the series “The Choice”, with its three parts, succeeded in documenting everything.
He noted that this series confirmed the validity of facts that were tangible, but their vision was also lacking.
