Hundreds of athletes from the commune and other cities in the country will measure their strength at the Quilamapu gym to participate in the second version of the Chillán Table Tennis Cup, scheduled for October 19 and 20.
The event, which is organized by the Sports and Recreation Directorate of the Municipality of Chillán, brought together more than 150 tennis players in the 2022 version, a figure that this year they hope to exceed and for which the invitation is open to students from the establishments. municipal, subsidized and private educational institutions in the country.
“On Thursday and Friday of next week we have the Chillán City Cup in Table Tennis, we want to increase the participation of schoolchildren, especially municipal students, however, it is open to the entire school community,” said the communal director of Sports, Samuel Caroca.
The sports advisor of the Municipality of Chillán, Hernán Blasco, also invited the school community to participate in one of the events that aims to become a tradition in the commune. “We have put many emerging and strategic sports in the spotlight, we understand that sport is transversal, many disciplines deserve their space, that is why we have promoted municipal championships that benefit our students.”
The tournament will take place from 9:00 a.m. on both days and the Mini Penecas, Penecas, Pre-Infant, Children’s, and Youth categories are considered, all for women and men.
Registration is free and participating institutions must send the list of players to the Sports and Recreation Directorate via email [email protected]with copy to [email protected]. The deadline to register is Monday, October 16.
