France Bleu Bourgogne is following in the footsteps of Father Christmas! Unfortunately – for mainly practical reasons – we were unable to go as far as Lapland, only as far as Beire-le-Châtel, a 30-minute drive from Dijon. Mid-December 2020, a letterbox was installed by the town hall and associations on a lawn in front of the church, in a small clearing arranged between decorated fir trees and colorful mushrooms. This mailbox is Father Christmas’s! This is the first year that she is installed. One way to counter the gloom, since the most famous old bearded man in the world was not allowed to come to school or to the market this year, because of the health crisis.

Children’s requests

Santa Claus received about thirty letters. Children can also leave theirs until the evening of December 22. Then, the Beirean elves will take care of answering them and sending them a small gift. Among the requests, many toys, but also a “flying fairy”, “the hardest gift to find”, according to a pixie who does not despair.

A certain Carole, who is past school age, also sent her letter: she asks to find the American actor Bradley Cooper at the foot of his tree on the morning of December 25. Bradley, if you’re reading this article, let us know!
