A man brutally beat his partner in front of his small children, and ran away after questioning the suspect. The Füzesabony District Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against the fugitive offender.
László Konkoly Thegea spokesman for the Heves County Prosecutor’s Office wrote in a statement sent to our newspaper that the conflicts between the 34-year-old man and his partner had been regular over the past decade and a half . Three children were born from the couple’s relationship.
The youngest was six and the oldest was 12 when the crime was committed three and a half years ago. On the ominous night, the partners and the children went to sleep in the family’s shared bedroom. The adults got into a fight because of jealousy, the father started hitting the woman, then he dragged her off the bed and kicked her.
The children woke up and cried and begged their father to stop abusing their mother, but the man was not moved. He continued with the hard beating, even shouting at the little ones to sleep, or they would get him too. The children were acting as if they were asleep and they did not hear the shouts and cries of their mother who was lying on the ground trying to protect herself. All this lasted until morning.
said the prosecutor.
When the man went to sleep, the woman ran out of the house and called the police. During the child protection procedure that was taking place at the same time as the investigation, the protection authority put the three children in danger with foster parents, as a result of which the woman had to face further abuse suffered some time later.
The district attorney’s office is charging the perpetrator, who has recommended a prison sentence, with felony endangering a minor, attempted grievous bodily harm, violation of liberty personal, and reputational damage. Prosecutors also moved to terminate the man’s parental rights and make him pay criminal costs.
